Introducing Biocarbon Strings

Meet the new innovative strings; Sipario Biocarbon strings.

It was first introduced by Lyon and Healy and Salvi harps, an innovative strings that can save the earth while we still enjoy the bright tone. SIPARIO BIOCARBON® lever synthetic strings are made using a blend of a bio-plastic derived from sugar-cane; they deliver a powerful and bright tone that provides superior acoustic projection and sustain. Color-coded C’s and F’s.

These are not traditional nylon nor fluorocarbon strings but made with bio-plastic. Lyon and Healy recently introduced their new lever harp model "Drake" with fully strung with Biocarbon strings. The harp projected clear, bright tone with a nice sound projection, as much as Silkgut or Flurocarbon strings.

From mid 2021, most of the Salvi's lever harps are strung with Biocarbon, and a number of pedal harps top 1-2nd Octave was replaced with BioNylon.

This is still new to us, and we would need time to observe, test how biocarbon strings can replace our normal strings.

The price of strings obviously was not inexpensive, but it is sitting at the highest range among other strings that are currently available in the market.
